Gide Loyrette Nouel - 5 years in Ukraine and change of management
On 30 June 2011 the Kiev office of Gide Loyrette Nouel organized a cocktail reception at the Sofiya Kyiv historical park, Khlibnya museum, on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of its presence in Ukraine. Representatives of GLN management from the Paris office, partners from other GLN offices, as well as representatives of a number of international companies, banks, and business associations were among the guests of the cocktail reception.
The reception was also an occasion for announcing the new challenging mission of Karl Hepp de Sevelinges, partner and head of the Kiev office, who established GLN Kyiv 5 years ago and developed it until today. Mr. Hepp de Sevelinges will be leaving shortly for the USA to represent Gide Loyrette Nouel in New York.
It was also announced that Karl Hepp de Sevelinges will transfer management and development of GLN Kyiv to his trusted colleague Bertrand Barrier, with whom he worked closely in Paris and for the last 3 years in Kiev. Mr. Barrier joined the firm in 2002 and co-headed Gide Loyrette Nouel's German practice in Paris. In 2008 Bertrand Barrier joined the Kiev office of Gide Loyrette Nouel as head of the office's corporate and M&A practice. Mr. Barrier has extensive experience in M&A, corporate law, restructuring and contractual law. He has also participated in numerous investment projects in France and Ukraine. As of now Mr. Barrier will head the Kiev office for its further development.
According to Pierre Raoul-Duval, senior partner of Gide Loyrette Nouel, during the 5 years of its activities in Ukraine, the Kiev office proved to be one of the most successful offices of the firm. Among the crucial factors of this success is the fact that Ukraine remains a country with strong economic potential, where Gide Loyrette Nouel will continue establishing and developing its presence.
