Egorov Puginsky Afanasiev and Partners Ukraine appointed Roman Stepanenko as partner in charge of Banking & Finance, Capital Markets practice, effective of 1 November 2014. Roman's practice focuses on capital markets and financial transactions in Ukraine, including debt and equity deals, investment projects, debt restructurings, derivative instruments, securities and banking and financial services regulatory. Since joining the firm in 2004, Roman has advised clients on complex financial and capital markets projects in Ukraine for the total value of over USD 30 billion. This includes the largest borrowings for to the sovereign, cross-border financings for state-owned and private banks and corporates, Rule 144A share offerings, direct Eurobond issues by Ukrainian sovereign and quasi-sovereign borrowers, LPN and CLN issues by Ukrainian corporate borrowers and commercial banks, structured finance for multinational corporations; first-of-a-kind and the largest debt restructurings in the Ukrainian market. Roman has been recognized among Ukraine’s leading lawyers by Chambers, IFLR100, The Legal 500 and other leading legal directories.
Roman Stepanenko obtained his master of International Law degree (summa cum laude) from Kiev International University, Institute of International Relations, Ukraine, in 2005.
