AstapovLawyers advised on potential EUR 168 million Slovakia Steel Mill deal

AstapovLawyers has recently advised KVV Group, a leading Ukrainian company which operates in scrap metal business, on potential acquisition of debt of Slovakia Steel Mills (SSM). The deal value is over EUR 168 million. The team was led by partner and head of Corporate and M&A practice Oleh_Malskyy, who advised on the overall structure of the transaction, provided negotiations support, structuring advice, due diligence, tax planning, litigation and bankruptcy strategy and risk mitigation, as well as advised on regulatory and licensing matters. 

This potential transaction follows recent EUR 107 million acquisition of JSC Liepajas Metalurgs in Latvia by KVV Group, whereas  AstapovLawyers also advised. JSC Liepajas Metalurgs is the largest industrial enterprise in Latvia which also includes own port facility, and it the only steel mill in the Baltics.
