Tax Advisers Join a New Association

On 29 July, the first meeting of the NGO Tax Advisors Association was held at the Hotel IBIS in Kiev. The purpose of the Association is to unite intellectual efforts of professionals (lawyers, auditors, tax advisers, accountants, scientists) in the area of tax relations and to create a forum to exchange experience, promote research, develop an appropriate level of tax culture in the society in order to protect rights and interests of those involved in tax relations.

The meeting was attended by 63 participants.

The participants approved the constituent documents and regulations governing the internal organization of the Association.

The meeting also elected the Board of the Association:

1. Yaroslav Romanchuk, managing partner, International legal center EUCON;
2. Pavlo Khodakovsky, partner, Arzinger;
3. Danylo Getmantsev, the honorary president of Jurimex Law Firm;
4. Anton Polyanichko,Deputy Head of the Organizational Department of the Second Judicial Chamber of the Higher Administrative Court of Ukraine;
5. Natalia Blazhivska, judge of the Higher Administrative Court of Ukraine;
6. VladyslavSokolovskyi, managing partner, Sokolovskyi and Partners;
7. Ihor Melnyk, partner, IMG Partners;
8. Andriy Stelmashchuk, partner, Vasil Kisil & Partners;
9. Vitaliy Serdyuk, partner, AVER LEX;
10. Oleksandr Skliarenko, managing partner, Skliarenko & Partners;
11. Oleg Rachuk, managing partner,Natsyna Rachuk.

The President of the Association was elected Yaroslav Romanchuk, the managing partner of the International legal center EUCON, and the Vice President – Pavlo Khodakovsky, a partner of Arzinger.

As suggested by the Organizing Committee, the Association established an advisory body on research and organizational activities – the Scientific Council, which is chaired by Danylo Getmantsev, Ph.D., Professor of the Law School in the Kiev Shevchenko University, the honorary president of Jurimex Law Firm. The Scientific Council was joined by:

1. Olena Hedziuk – CJS, assistant at the Department of Financial Law, the Kiev Shevchenko University;
2. Ihor Samsin – DJS, Honored Lawyer of Ukraine, judge of the Supreme Court of Ukraine;
3. Olena Orliuk – DJS, professor, member of the National Academy of Ukraine, Director of the Intellectual Property Research Institute, Head of the Department of Intellectual Property of the Law School, the Kiev Shevchenko University.
4. Dmytro Serebriansky – CES, Associate Professor, Senior Fellow, Director of the Research Institute of Financial Law
5. Oleksandra Smirnova – CES, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of International Experience and European Integration, the Research Institute of Financial Law;
6. Anton Polianychko – Deputy Head of the Organizational Department of the Second Judicial Chamber of the Higher Administrative Court of Ukraine.

In view of its areas of activities, the Association made a list of its committees. The meeting also approved the Executive Director of the Association – Valentina Pronina, a renowned expert in the field of tax law.

Speaking at the founding meeting, Yaroslav Romanchuk said: “The Association shall be the union of professionals that would set bridges between specialists in tax law, related areas of law and the government agencies that implement the fiscal policy. Members of the Association will make every effort in order to influence the authorities in approval and implementation of the revised tax law”.

The Association’s members also intend to make the tax legislation of Ukraine compatible with the EU standards.
