2^nd Ukrainian Nationwide Forum of Corporate Secretaries (Corporate Governance)

On 7 November 2013 the 2nd Ukrainian Nationwide Forum of Corporate Secretaries (Corporate Governance) went through which brought together the Regulator’s representatives of the - the National Securities and Stock Market Commission, corporate secretaries and those who perform these duties in joint stock companies, and business top managers.

The event was organized by the Stock Market Infrastructure Development Agency and Pavlenko & Poberezhnyuk Law Group. The Forum was held under the support of the National Securities and Stock Market Commission and European Business Association.

Summing up the Forum, Oleksandra Pavlenko, partner with Pavlenko & Poberezhnyuk  Law Group, pointed that introducing proper order in the corporate governance system is the key issue for Ukrainian companies approaching IPO.As the lawyer explained, most of corporate wars or conflicts are normally based on lack or insufficiency of understanding between the above entities.

Yuriy Boyko, head of the Stock Market Infrastructure Development Agency, noted that a lot is being talked about the need for improving the investment climate for investors' interest in Ukraine in general and the stock market in particular.

The Ukrainian Nationwide Forum of Corporate Secretaries - the annual national industry event aimed at the development of Corporate Governance and the Institute of Corporate Secretaries in Ukraine. The Forum is held under the patronage of the State Regulator - the National Securities and Stock Market Commission - and under support of the European Business Association.

The Speakers at the Forum in 2013 were the representatives of commercial companies: Metinvest Holding, Carlsberg Ukraine, Noble Resources Ukraine, ISD Corporation, DTEK and the ones of the Regulator’s.
