Magisters Announced the Appointment of Top Austrian Lawyer as Partner and Head of German Desk

Magisters announced the appointment of Ilona Zekely, formerly managing partner of Schoenherr in Ukraine, as partner and head of German Desk, Ukraine.

Ms. Zekely will expand Magisters' offerings to German-speaking clients and will provide legal advice to companies from Germany, Austria and Switzerland with interests across the CIS.

Her main focus will be on Ukrainian and CISwide market. Ms. Zekely will be based in Kiev and will have frequent business trips to other CIS jurisdictions developing the German Desk.

Prior to joining Magisters, Ilona Zekely was managing partner at Vienna-based Schoenherr's Kiev office, where she was supervising major clients and projects and managed a wide range of administrative issues, such as finance, marketing, business development and human resources.

Ilona's primary focus is on corporate law, M&A, investment structuring issues, oil and gas and real estate. Prior to joining Schoenherr, she worked for Baker & McKenzie and other prominent law firms in Vienna, Austria.

Ilona Zekely completed a Master's of Law at University of Vienna, School of Law and is fluent in German, English, French and has basic knowledge of Russian.
