Nataliya Mykolska judges the National Round of ELSA Moot Court Competition on WTO Law
On February 12 – 14, I. Franko Lvov National University hosted the 4th National Round of the 8th edition of the ELSA Moot Court Competition (EMCC) on WTO Law. This year, the Moot was focused on trade aspects of intellectual property and relevant WTO agreements.
The first ELSA Moot Court Competition was held in April 2003. This is the forth time that this unique event has taken place in Ukraine. The semi-final and final competitions take place in Geneva, the headquarters of the World Trade Organization.
The ELSA Moot Court Competition on WTO Law is an imitation of court proceedings during which the teams represent their party in a dispute before judges (WTO law experts). The purpose of this competition is to introduce high European standards of the development of practical skills for law students in the sphere of international trade regulation and to improve the professional knowledge of law students, as well as to test the ability of law students to draft legal arguments, plead their case, and to practice public speaking skills.
Considering her knowledge and expertise in WTO law, Nataliya Mykolska, a senior associate at Vasil Kisil & Partners, was invited by the organizers to judge the semi-final and final of the National Round. It is the second running year that Mrs. Mykolska has been confided such an honorable duty.
The competent jury of the semi-final and final of the National Rounds is composed of leading experts, both legal practitioners and theoreticians, in international trade law and WTO law.
Mrs. Mykolska is a national expert of the International Distribution Institute on franchising in Ukraine and a Deputy Chairman of the International Law Committee at the Ukrainian Bar Association. Nataliya Mykolska has extensive experience of working for state authorities and private companies in Ukraine, Germany, and Canada. Ukrainian Law Firms Handbook has repeatedly named her among recommended lawyers practicing Foreign Trade.
